Chiropractic and physiotherapy upstairs at Surfers Gym.
Proper assessment, hands-on care where it helps, and a rehab plan you'll actually follow.
Movement Health & Wellness is a chiropractic and physiotherapy clinic on the upper level of Surfers Gym in Cromer. We work with surfers, runners, lifters and everyday people across the Northern Beaches, from Dee Why and Collaroy to Narrabeen and Wheeler Heights.
Whoever you see, the approach is the same: a thorough assessment, a clear explanation, hands-on treatment where it helps, and exercise-led rehab to keep you doing what you love. Being inside a working gym means your rehab doesn't stop at a sheet of exercises.
We work with a wide range of people — from those managing chronic pain or recovering from injury, to surfers, active adults, and women looking to build confidence in strength training. Whatever brings you in, you'll get an honest assessment, clear communication, and a treatment plan that actually fits your situation.
Treatment options include:
• Chiropractic or physioptherapy
• Soft tissue therapy and massage
• Dry needling and cupping
• DNS and functional movement–based rehab
• Strength and conditioning for injury prevention and return to sport
What We Offer
Chiropractic
Sessions start with a thorough assessment. Treatment may include joint mobilisation and manipulation, soft tissue work and dry needling, always paired with exercise so the results last beyond the treatment table. Chiropractic care may help with:
Sports and surf injuries: shoulder, knee, ankle, hamstring and calf
Low back pain, including pain that keeps coming back
Neck pain and stiffness
Some types of headache, such as those coming from the neck
Mid-back and rib pain
Shoulder and hip pain
Returning to sport, training or work after injury
Appointments Monday - Saturday. No referral needed. Health fund rebates on the spot with HICAPS.
Physiotherapy
Every session starts with a thorough assessment, followed by hands-on treatment where it helps and a rehab plan built around what you want to get back to. Physio may help with:
Sports and surf injuries: shoulder, knee, ankle, hamstring and calf
Running injuries, including shin, knee and heel pain
Persistent back, neck and joint pain
Tendon pain in the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee or Achilles
Rehab after surgery, working alongside your surgeon's protocol
Returning to sport, training or work after injury
Sports Injuries
Hurt yourself surfing, running or in the gym? We assess the injury, treat it, and give you a clear, staged plan back to your sport. That means you know what to do, what to avoid, and when it's reasonable to paddle out, run or lift again. Sports injury care may help with:
Surfer's shoulder and paddling-related pain
Lower back pain from paddling, popping up or lifting
Knee and ankle sprains
Hamstring, calf and groin strains
Running injuries such as shin splints, runner's knee and plantar fasciitis
Niggles that keep coming back when you increase training
Chiro or physio, whichever time suits you. We're happy to liaise with your coach or trainer.
1:1 Training
Treatment gets you out of pain. Strength keeps you out of it. Jess is an ASCA-accredited strength and conditioning coach, and because the clinic sits inside Surfers Gym, your rehab can move straight from the treatment room to the gym floor. One-on-one sessions may help with:
Rebuilding strength after an injury or surgery
Bridging the gap between "pain-free" and "back to full training"
Surf-specific strength and conditioning for paddling, pop-ups and turns
Building confidence with lifting if pain has made you cautious
Learning a program you can keep doing on your own
Sessions are held in the gym downstairs.

Chiro or physio: who should I book?
Both chiropractors and physiotherapists are university-trained, AHPRA-registered practitioners who assess and treat muscle, joint and movement problems. For most back, neck and joint complaints, research doesn't show one profession consistently outperforming the other. The quality of the assessment and the plan matter more than the title.
At Movement, both practitioners work the same way. Book whichever time suits you. If we think you'd be better off with someone else, including a GP or another practitioner, we'll tell you.
